{"id":284278,"date":"2024-10-19T19:14:19","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T19:14:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bs-en-1846-32013\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T16:02:59","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T16:02:59","slug":"bs-en-1846-32013","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bs-en-1846-32013\/","title":{"rendered":"BS EN 1846-3:2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>1.1<\/b> This part of this European Standard specifies the minimum requirements for safety and performance of some optional specific permanently installed equipment on firefighting and rescue service vehicles, operated by trained persons, as designated in EN 1846-1 and specified in EN 1846-2.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE Categories and mass classes of the firefighting and rescue service vehicles are given in EN 1846-1.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The permanently installed equipment covered by this Part of this European Standard is given below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>water installation;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>liquid additive installation;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>monitor;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>equipment gantries;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>demountable systems using a hydraulic hook arm.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This part of this European Standard should be read in conjunction with any national regulations in force for vehicles using the public roads and with any EU Directives and associated EFTA regulations in force relevant to vehicles and their equipment.<\/p>\n<p>For the purposes of this European Standard, the normal ambient temperature range is &#8211; 15 \u00b0C to + 35 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>For equipment to be used at temperature outside this temperature range, the particular temperature range should be specified by the user and the manufacturer should determine by a risk assessment any need for additional precautions.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.2<\/b> This European Standard does not deal with the following types of fire-fighting or rescue vehicles or equipment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>all control systems outside of the cabin related to hook arm system;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>vehicles designed exclusively for carrying personnel;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>vehicles with a gross laden mass not exceeding 3 t;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>boats;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>aircraft;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>railway vehicles;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>ambulances (see EN 1789);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>provisions for removable equipment driven by PTO;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>airport vehicles in the scope of the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>1.3<\/b> This part of this European Standard deals with the technical requirements to minimise the hazards listed in Clause 4 which can arise during operational use, routine checking and maintenance of firefighting and rescue service vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>It does not cover the hazards generated by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>non-permanently installed equipment i.e. portable equipment carried on the vehicle;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>use in potentially explosive atmospheres;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>commissioning and decommissioning;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>noise (as permanently installed equipment cannot be operated separately from the vehicle, this hazard is covered in Part 2);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>electromagnetic compatibility.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional measures not dealt with in this European Standard may be necessary for specific use (e.g. fire in natural environment, flooding, etc.).<\/p>\n<p><b>1.4<\/b> This document is not applicable to the equipment which is manufactured before its date of publication by CEN.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>Firefighting and rescue service vehicles &#8211; Permanently installed equipment.
