It is primarily intended for use by building owners, building managers, installers and associated professionals. It is not intended to serve as a detailed design guide (see foreword).<\/p>\n<p>The recommendations recognize the need to optimize the use of energy, reduce hazards and minimize effects detrimental to the environment.<\/p>\n<p>Solar heating is outside the scope of this code.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE The titles of the British Standards publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back cover.
