This document gives requirements and guidance for the assessment of conformity of materials, products, and assemblies in accordance with the applicable part(s) of ISO 22391 intended to be included in the manufacturer's quality plan as part of the quality management system and for the establishment of certification procedures.

NOTE In order to help the reader, a basic test matrix is given in Annex A.

In conjunction with the other parts of ISO 22391 (see Foreword), this document is applicable to polyethylene of raised temperature resistance (PE-RT) piping systems intended to be used for hot and cold water installations within buildings for the conveyance of water, whether or not intended for human consumption (domestic systems) and for heating systems, under design pressures and temperatures appropriate to the class of application (see ISO 22391-1:2009, Table 1).

ISO/TR 4191:2014 gives recommended practices for installation of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) and oriented unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-O) pipes, fittings, valves, and ancillaries when used in piping systems conveying water under pressure.

The recommendations are intended to give practical guidance of design and installation of piping systems incorporating pipes, fittings, valves, and ancillary equipment made from PVC materials and used for the following purposes: water mains and services buried in ground, waste water under pressure, and conveyance of water above ground for both outside and inside buildings, for the supply of water under pressure at approximately 20 °C (cold water) intended for human consumption and for general purposes.

ISO/TR 4191:2014 is also applicable to components for the conveyance of water up to and including 45 °C. For temperatures between 25 °C and 45 °C, Figure 1 of ISO 1452-2:2009 applies.

In addition, recommendations are given for the connection to fittings, valves, and ancillary equipment made from materials other than PVC.

? transporter de l'eau (par exemple, de l'eau potable), des eaux usées et d'autres liquides;

? fonctionner avec ou sans pression;

? être installées dans le sol ou en aérien;

[1] 100 kPa = 1 bar.
