This Standard specifies the definitions, types and permissible limits of surface imperfections of O-rings that are intended for general machinery.

The dimensions of O-rings are specified in JIS B 2401-1.

NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 3601-3 : 2005 Fluid power systems – a-rings – Part 3 : Quality acceptance criteria (MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/lEC Guide 21-1.
