This part of IEC 60793 establishes uniform requirements for the
\nmechanical characteristic fibre curl or latent curvature, in
\nuncoated optical fibres. Fibre curl has been identified as an
\nimportant parameter for minimizing the splice loss of optical
\nfibres when using passive alignment fusion splicers or active
\nalignment mass fusion splicers.<\/p>\n

Two methods, presented in Annexes A and B respectively, are
\nrecognized for the measurement of fibre curl, in uncoated optical
\nfibres:<\/p>\n
