The<br \/>\nsupplementary terms and definitions and the conditions of<br \/>\nmeasurement set forth in this Standard are intended for typical<br \/>\ntests and may be used also for acceptance tests.<\/p>\n<p>For the purpose of this Standard, an antenna is defined as a<br \/>\ndevice for coupling a transmission line to space for the purpose of<br \/>\nradiating or receiving electromagnetic waves. It includes any<br \/>\nmatching, balancing, phasing or other coupling devices up to the<br \/>\npoint of connection of the transmission line. Base or fixed station<br \/>\nantennas are electromagnetic radiators or combinations thereof in<br \/>\narrays used for the mobile communication services at the base<br \/>\nstation or fixed station.
