It allows data and commands to be specified in a standardised way, independent of the ISO\/IEC\u00a018000 series air interfaces.<\/p>\n<p>This document:<\/p>\n<p>\u2014\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 provides guidelines on presenting data as objects;<\/p>\n<p>\u2014\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 defines the structure of Object Identifiers, based on ISO\/IEC\u00a09834-1;<\/p>\n<p>\u2014\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 specifies the commands that are supported for transferring data between an application and the radio frequency identification (RFID) tag;<\/p>\n<p>\u2014\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 specifies the responses that are supported for transferring data between the tag and the application;<\/p>\n<p>\u2014\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 does not specify any required transfer syntax with ISO\/IEC\u00a015962, but provides the non-normative information in Annex\u00a0A for backward compatibility with the 2004 version of this document (ISO\/IEC\u00a015961:2004[1]).<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>[1] Withdrawn standard.
