Such requirements are given in particular documents for specific <em>medical devices<\/em> or <em>accessories<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This document does not specify requirements for the following <em>small-bore connectors,<\/em> which are specified in other documents:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; haemodialyser, haemodiafilter and haemofilter blood compartment ports (ISO 8637<sup> [5] <\/sup>and applicable portion of ISO 8638 <sup>[<\/sup> <sup>6<\/sup><sup>]<\/sup> referencing blood compartment ports);<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; haemodialysis, haemodiafiltration and haemofiltration equipment <em>connectors<\/em> (ISO 8637 <sup>[5]<\/sup>);<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; infusion system closure piercing <em>connectors<\/em> (ISO 8536-4 <sup>[<\/sup><sup>4<\/sup><sup>]<\/sup>).<\/p>\n<p>NOTE 3 <em>Manufacturers<\/em> are encouraged to incorporate the<em>small-bore connectors<\/em> specified in this document into <em>medical devices<\/em> or <em>accessories<\/em>, even if currently not required by the relevant particular <em>medical device<\/em> documents.
