1 Scope

1.1 This Outline of Investigation covers rechargeable reel and rotary ride-on battery powered lawn mowers intended as consumer products for household use.

1.2 These requirements do not cover equipment for use in hazardous locations as defined in the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70.

1.3 This Outline of Investigation does not cover:

a)    Robotic Lawn Mowers that are unattended and operate automatically; or

b)    Battery-Operated Lawn Mowers which are covered under UL 1447.

1.4 Most requirements for battery operation and charging are incorporated by reference to UL 2595.
