The data were derived from results of tests, from many<br \/>\nsources in the literature, made at room temperature in laboratory<br \/>\nair and are presented as curves plotted against stress intensity<br \/>\nfactor range down to threshold values for various values of stress<br \/>\nratio. The chemical composition of the steels and mechanical<br \/>\nproperties of the test specimens are tabulated, and summary curves<br \/>\nshow the effects of steel composition on crack growth rate and of<br \/>\nstress ratio on threshold stress intensity factor range. Effects of<br \/>\nspecimen size, environment, heat treatment, steel composition and<br \/>\nstress ratio are discussed.
